The doors started out looking like this and after the molding was applied and the cabinets were painted they now look like this. And these drawers once plain and boring and desperately in need of a new paint job now freshly painted and full of life. Trim of any type makes cabinet doors appear expensive. Now looks like this.

So what looked like this before. You can attach it to the edges around the perimeter or flat on the face of the door. There are lots of choices. Sand the mdf shaker cabinet doors.

And what used to look like this. Now looks like this. Painful and gave them some character with a little trim. She updated her flat slab cabinet doors with molding and a fresh coat of paint and the difference is remarkable.

Skinny baseboards and flat front cabinets. This blogger wanted to open up one cabinet for shelving and add trim and fresh paint to the rest of the cabinet doors. I was shocked how easy this came together. What i ended up doing is transforming my flat doors into shaker style cabinets by simply adding trim to the doors.

After adding the trim pieces to all the cabinet doors sand the edges of the trim to make everything even. See the picture below for the before and after sanding.
